sbrsd pellet boilerThe Alliance for Green Heat and the Biomass Thermal Energy Council will hold a Automated Wood Stoves: Technology, policy & Barriers webinar on June 29th from 10 to 11:30 am.

Presenters for the webinar are Dr. Ricardo Carvalho, Thermochemical Conversion Energy Laboratory, and  Scott Nichols, president of Tarm Biomass

Automated wood stoves with sensors that control the air intake and drastically reduce the possibility of operator error may change public opinion about the technology. New stoves can operate very well in a test lab but performance in the field is often poor at least for a substantial part of the burn cycle. This webinar features an American and a European expert on the potential of automation, how it works and what policies may support this up and coming technology.

The presenters will discuss  technology that can be used to automate wood stove operation. Sensors and controllers can improve combustion efficiency and reduce air pollution. Automated controls can also improve ease of use and open the market to younger, more environmentally conscious consumers who want greater convenience, safety and smart phone connectivity.
