The Fall Massachusetts Forest Forum will be held at the Fisher Museum at Harvard Forest in Petersham on November 1st from 3 to 7:30 p.m.

Schedule

3:00 – 3:30                Brief introductions and one sentence about a project related to a Forest Form Goal (see 5 goals below)

 3:30 – 3:45                Overview of EEA’s Forestry Initiative — Matthew Beaton, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs           

 3:45 – 5:30                Overview of Challenges and Opportunities within the “Forestry Chain”:  Landowners, Foresters, Harvesters,Sawmills, Secondary Wood Producers and Environmental Organizations  (brief presentations from each group followed by a discussion of common challenges and opportunities)

 5:30 – 6:15    Dinner (provided)

 6:15 – 6:45                Challenges and Opportunities within Rural Massachusetts —  Toby Gould and Beth Bandy, Founders of the new non-profit:                                                               Rural Commonwealth

6:45 – 7:30                Updates:
