Every year there is a major inter-generational transfer of land. The decisions landowners make about the future ownership and use of their land will have long-lasting effects on the public and private benefits the land provides.

Many landowners say they want to keep their land undeveloped and whole. Foresters and other natural resource professionals can play a critical role in helping landowners achieve these goals.

This one-hour webinar will provide an overview of these critical landowner decisions, the options that landowners have to keep their land undeveloped and whole, and specific ways that foresters and natural resources professionals can help inform these decisions that will  shape our future land base. In addition, new resources for VT landowners and professionals will be discussed.

Paul Catanzaro is an Extension Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Paul teaches courses in the Forest Ecology and Conservation major and engages in research as a part of the Family Forest Research Center. Paul’s research and outreach work focuses on legacy planning.
