The New Jersey Forestry Association will hold a 90 minute Beech Leaf Disease (BLD) webinar on September 21st from 7 to 8:30 pm.
In this webinar, Jean Epiphan from Rutgers Extension, will discuss the ecology of beech, their importance in NJ, and what attributes and ecological services are under threat.
Jean will also explain the basic pathogenesis of Beech Leaf Disease.
Then, the program will focus on steps land managers can make to mitigate negative impacts of BLD: including treatment options with pesticides, cultural practices to reduce stress in beech trees, and vital steps to prepare for losses of beech canopy including mass underplanting of indigenous tree cohorts and their management for success.
