UNH Extension will hold a Beginner Maple Sugaring online workshop on Monday, March 8th from 7 to 8 pm.

The sap will be running soon if not already! Have you thought about making your own maple syrup? Do you want to know what is needed?

Join Steve Roberge, UNH Extension Forester, to go over the syrup making process from the tree to the table plus the equipment needed to get started making your own syrup. This online discussion is geared to first-timers and beginner “maplers.” Whether you are thinking about starting for the first time this year or you have already boiled a couple times this season and have questions, bring your questions about sugaring.

All aspects of maple sugaring will be covered, including tree identification and tapping, collecting and boiling sap, finishing, filtering and packing syrup. Equipment and supplies needed, especially sizing and operating small evaporators, homemade and commercial, will also be discussed.
