The Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Service Forestry Program will hold a workshop for licensed timber harvesters on Chapter 132 Forest Cutting Practices regulations at the landing .5 miles from junction of Davenport and Davis Mine Roads in Rowe on June 12th from 1 – 4 pm.
Licensed harvesters are required to take 9 hours of continuing education every three years to maintain their license, including 3 hours on Massachusetts forestry laws and regulations. Attending one of the DCR workshops will meet the 3 hour forestry laws and regulations requirement.
BMPs, wetlands identification, mapping, stand treatment narratives and Chapter 132 requirements will be covered.
