The New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association and the Beaver Brook Association will hold a 4 hour workshop on Forest Trails for Wildlife, Forestry & Recreation on September 19th from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Lawrence Barn Community Center in Hollis, NH

Learn about considerations given with respect to trail use, construction and/or maintenance with respect to wildlife, forest management operations, and recreation.  This workshop expands upon NH Fish and Game’s newly developed statewide tool for assessing existing trails and for siting new trails in the most wildlife friendly way.

What other issues might you encounter in designing new trails, maintaining existing trails, closing down trails?  Also included is what NOT to do; learning from your mistakes.

This workshop will include an indoor component and an outdoor field session where we will visit Beaver Brook Association to view a recently completed timber harvest and recreational trails adjacent to it, and also to observe other trails on the property.

Cost of the workshop is $30 for NHTOA members, $45 for non-members
