The Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District will hold a Forestry BMP & Skidder Bridge Workshop on June 18th from 8 am to 4 pm in Malone, NY.

Participants will learn how to protect water quality, forest & soil health and sensitive habitat areas.

Topics will include:

  • Benefits of implementing BMPs
  • Field Tour of implemented forestry BMPs
  • Permit requirements
  • Construction of a portable skidder bridge

Each logger in attendance will be entered into a drawing to take the portable skidder bridge home with them.  All attendees will receive a free copy of the 2018 Forestry BMP Field Guide.

This workshop is free and open to the public.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
