Penn State Extension will hold a one-hour Introduction to Forests, Carbon Sequestration and Carbon Markets webinar on December 15th from noon to 1 pm EST.

Because trees and other woody plants remove carbon from the air and store it (sequester it) as wood as they grow, one proposed strategy for reducing the effects of climate change is to encourage the expansion, growth and conservation of woodlands around the world.  Woodland owners may be able to profitably contract to store carbon in their trees through carbon markets.

This Introduction to Forests, Carbon Sequestration and Markets webinar is for forest owners and land managers, offering an introduction to how forests store carbon, carbon markets, and opportunities in Pennsylvania.
