New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association will hold a Mechanized Menagerie workshop on April 25th from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm at Milton CAT in Londonderry, New Hampshire.
Join Milton CAT specialists and experts in technology, maintenance, hydraulics, undercarriage, service, and more for an active “round robin” learning experience. This series of workshops will explore the day-to-day maintenance and operational questions and challenges facing anyone owning and or operating equipment in the woods. It will cover regular maintenance needs, and those unplanned maintenance/safety needs (i.e., fire suppression systems).
In addition to an informative day, Milton CAT is also graciously providing lunch to all attendees.
7:30 am – Arrival/Registration and refreshments
8:00 – 11:45 am Welcome and Introductions – NHTOA and Milton CAT staff. Split into smaller groups for station rotations.
12 noon-12:45pm: Lunch provided by Milton Cat.
12:45 – 1:30pm: Group sessions and wrap up
Station 1: Hydraulics lesson (Jim Clarke): Jim has been a staple in the Milton Cat service department for 25+ years and has been the Forestry Technical Service Manager for many of those years. When there is an issue and is not easily solved, Jim is one of the major contributors to getting our customers back up and running. If we can help them better understand these systems, all the better.
Station 2: Undercarriage Lesson (Mike Robinson): Mike has 45 years of experience with Milton Cat as a Product Support Representative specializing in undercarriage components. Mike also has a great admiration for the woods as he is a graduate of the UNH Thompson School of Forest Technologies.
Station 3: Fire Suppression (Brad Johnston, American logger Fire Suppression): Brad will be talking with everybody about the different types of fire suppression systems in the market and his vast knowledge of the difficulties that come with insurance in this business. The goal here is for members to better understand how they can protect themselves, their machines and forest land in the state.
Station 4: Weiler History and future (Peter Collins/Norm Pelletier): Peter and Norm will give a brief history of Weiler and their transition after purchasing the Caterpillar Forestry Division and give an update on where Milton Cat and Weiler are going in the future with forestry machines and how we can better serve the industry.
Cost of this workshop is $75 for NHTOA members, $125 for non-members.
