Phytoremediation is the use of trees to clean contaminated soils and waters of pollutants.

The US Forest Service Eastern Region Watershed Forestry Team will hold a Phytoremediation for Healthy Watersheds webinar on July 11th from Noon to 1 pm ET.

In this webinar,

Ron Zalesny (USDA Forest Service) will highlight the science behind phytotechnologies, focusing on silvicultural prescriptions and examples most relevant for watershed partners.

Liz Rogers (USDA Forest Service) will discuss cutting edge technologies being developed to increase the effectiveness of phytoremediation.

Bart Sexton (Sand County Environmental) will share advances and challenges of real-world phytotechnology applications being used to benefit local communities and enhance ecosystem services throughout watersheds of the United States.

Continuing Education Credits (Category 1 Continuing Forestry Education Credit) through the Society of American Foresters will be available for attendees. This webinar will be recorded for later viewing.
