The Pacific Northwest has millions of acres of unlogged mature and old-growth forests. We have learned much about their ecology and conservation after more than four decades of research and efforts to conserve them.

Yale Forest Forum will hold a Ten Things I’ve Learned about the Ecology of Mature and Old-Growth Forests online program on September 12th from Noon to 1 pm EDT

In this program, Thomas Spies, Emeritus Scientist from the Forest Service’s PNW Research Station, will highlight some of the distinctive features of the structure, composition, functions and dynamics of these ecologically diverse, centuries-old forests.

This program is part of a weekly Conserving Mature and Old-Growth Forests in a Changing Climate webinar series Yale Forest Forum is holding this fall with a variety of speakers to share how they are responding to and shaping the discussion on mature and old-growth forests

The series will be held Thursdays from August 29 to December 5 from 12:00 -12:55 pm U.S. ET.
