The Forest Stewards Guild and state partners will hold a 3-part mini-series on different aspects of the importance of increasing oak resiliency in southern New England forests between April 27th and May 4th.

Each session will focus on a specific topic, including wildlife, forestry, and climate change, and feature natural resource professionals from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

The first session on Oak’s importance for Wildlife will be held on April 27th from 4 to 5 pm ET and feature forester Brian Hawthorne from Mass. DCR.

Do you know which birds and animals rely on the oaks in your woods.  This session will address the importance of oaks in providing habitat and food for wildlife in our forests.
