The American Forest Foundation has completed the process to review and revise the American Tree Farm System’s Standards for Sustainability. The slightly revised 2021 – 2026 Standards have been approved and, after a short transition period, will go fully into effect in March.
As part of this process, all foresters who are certified as Tree Farm inspectors must get training and be certified in the 2021 Standards to be able to certify Tree Farms after March 15th.
To help with this, ATFS is holding two online Inspector Training programs on March 1st and March 5th. The 4 hour workshops will cover the changes to the Standards for Sustainability, inspector eligibility, Tree Farm eligibility, and the new 021 inspection form to be used in certifying or recertifying Tree Farms. The training will both qualify current inspectors in the revised Standards, as well as new inspectors.
The online workshops will be held on March 1st, from 11 am to 3 pm EST, and March 5th from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm EST

ATFS is in the process of getting SAF credits for each workshop.
