Canadian Tree Fund
In recent decades, community wood banks have arisen to provide free firewood to fuel-poor households, as means of offsetting heating costs.
The Canadian Tree Fund will hold a Woodbanks, Fuel Poverty & Urban Forestry webinar on June 7th at Noon EDT
Clarisse Hart from Harvard Forest, Drs. Eric Griffith of Duke University and Rick Harper from UMass will discuss and outline the existence of woodbanks in the U.S. & Canada The webinar will also explore the potential for collaborations between municipal & private arboriculture/ urban forestry operations that generate “waste-wood” through routine operations like pruning & tree removals.
