Paul Frederick spoke about the lessons learned and the benefits of installing modern wood heat in Vermont public schools. Following the presentation, tour attendees visited three pellet boiler systems and a woodlot in the neighboring towns of Montague and Charlemont. This allowed participants to ask questions directly to the systems’ operators and to trek through the woods to see regrowth after a timber harvest. The twenty participants represented local towns and regional organizations interested in learning about modern wood heat.
