Large, tall, majestic trees are the iconic image of old forests. But that’s only part of the picture. Trees in old forests can be short, small in girth, and anything but majestic.
The Vermont Land Trust will hold an Old Forests in Plain Sight – Online program on March 30th from 7 to 8 pm
In this program, Vermont Land Trust will provide a virtual tour of unusual examples of old forests in Vermont. From airy cliff brows to damp and mossy swamps, We will visit some surprising settings where trees can be hundreds of years old. In addition, the program will discuss the natural communities, plants, and animals found in these special woodlands.
The program will also explain how you can visit some of these distinctive old forests.
