The Appalachian Beginning Forest Farmer Coalition (ABFFC) will hold a Beyond the Basics: Forest Farming Ginseng webinar on March 24th from 6 to 7:30 EDT.
ABFFC and partners have joined forces to put together this special webinar series for intermediate and experienced forest farmers* who want to learn more about common non-timber forest products (NTFPs) and expand their understanding of forest farming practices.
In this webinar, Dr. Eric Burkhart from Penn State will provide some research updates on ginseng forest farming site selection, crop protection, pest/disease management, and emerging leaf harvest opportunities.
He will also be joined for the second half of the webinar by forest farmer Ed Daniels (Shady Grove Botanicals, WV) and Anna Plattner and Justin Wexler (Wild Hudson Valley, NY) for a lively discussion of these topics and more.
