The U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s National Conservation Training Center will hold a Forest Disturbance Regimes webinar on October 17th at 1 pm ET.
This webinar is part of a 12 month series that explains how small- and large-scale forest disturbances, such as fire, wind, ice storms, hurricanes, etc and introduced and endemic forest pests, and others, affect forest ecosystems. The series will also examine ecological silviculture and climate adaptation approaches to help inform forest and wildlife management.
In this webinar, Jennifer Costanza from the Forest Service will discuss the impacts of disturbance regimes on forests, frequency and severity of disturbance events, and national trends in forest composition, structure, and health.
Jennifer has been involved in the Forest Service 2020 Resources Planning Act Assessment and will touch on this effort.
Webinars are presented in a Zoom format. You must register in advance. To register, go to Webinar Registration – Zoom (zoomgov.com)
