Research has shown that cities are hotter than the surrounding areas and that heat impacts on vulnerable populations are particularly severe and deadly.

The USDA Forest Service will hold a The Heat is On: Using Tree Canopy to Cool Communities webinar on Wednesday, August 14th from 1 to 2 pm EDT

Communities have used strategies for engaging residents and collecting data (community science) to better target tree planting activities where it matters most.

In this webinar, in collaboration with heat.gov, we will visit communities who used their heat maps to implement tree planting and maintenance plans.
