The DCR’s Forest Management Program will hold DCR Forest Management Open Houses in 4 locations around Massachusetts tonight (November 13th) from 6 to 8 pm to discuss 10 new proposed forest management projects. The program’s 2025 projects are focused on plantation conversion, improving complexity on the landscape, improving biodiversity, increasing forest resilience, and addressing forest health issues.

Based upon goals and recommendations made during the Forests as Climate Solutions Initiative, (FACs), the State Forest Action Plan (SFAP), and State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) or the 2025 projects will focus on the following:

  • Forest Resiliency
  • Plantation removal
  • Biodiversity
