Franklin Land Trust will hold a Spring Sanctuaries: Exploring Vernal Pools walk at Mohawk Trail Regional High School in Buckland, MA on April 16th from 9:30 to 11:30 am This educational walk will be led by Alia Woofenden, Climate Resilience and Special Education teacher. The walk will visit the certified vernal pool located on school property and learn about the unique ecology of these seasonal wetlands, critical habitat for many wildlife. This is an introductory workshop for people interested in learning about vernal pools. Participants will learn how to identify a vernal pool and about the different indicator species that can be found there.
