Nest Watch is a nationwide program led by Cornell’s Lab of Ornithology, supported by community members. It’s a fun and rewarding way to contribute to important research while observing Tree Swallow and Eastern Bluebird nesting.
Berkshire Natural Resources Council will hold NestWatch Training at the Thomas & Palmer Brook Reserve in Great Barrington on Friday, April 17th from 1:30 to 2:30 pm
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced birdwatcher, anyone can participate! This training will provide you with everything you need to get started, including the knowledge and materials to monitor nests.
Note: Participation in this project requires visiting your assigned nestbox at least once a week to collect data over a period of about 6 weeks (a full nesting attempt).
What to Bring: During the training, participants will be equipped with all the necessary materials (binoculars, clipboards, etc.), but please bring binoculars if you have them. Please also bring a pen or pencil.
To take part in this training, sign up at Bloomerang Volunteer
