Nest Watch is a nationwide program led by Cornell’s Lab of Ornithology, supported by community members. It’s a fun and rewarding way to contribute to important research while observing Tree Swallow and Eastern Bluebird nesting.

Berkshire Natural Resources Council will hold NestWatch Training at the Hollow Fields Reserve in Richmond  on Friday, April 17th from 3:30 to 4:30 pm

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced birdwatcher, anyone can participate! This training will provide you with everything you need to get started, including the knowledge and materials to monitor nests.

Note: Participation in this project requires visiting your assigned nestbox at least once a week to collect data over a period of about 6 weeks (a full nesting attempt).

What to Bring: During the training, participants will be equipped with all the necessary materials (binoculars, clipboards, etc.), but please bring binoculars if you have them. Please also bring a pen or pencil.
