The Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Service Forestry Program will hold a workshop for licensed timber harvesters on Chapter 132 Forest Cutting Practices regulations at the DCR South Mountain headquarters in Pittsfield on June 8th from 3 to 6 pm
Licensed harvesters are required to take 9 hours of continuing education every three years to maintain their license, including 3 hours on Massachusetts forestry laws and regulations. Attending one of the DCR workshops will meet the 3 hour forestry laws and regulations requirement.
The June 8th workshop will provide a review of the Cutting Practices regulations, a forest health update, a wood heat outlook, and segments on golf tees and Lincoln logs.
