The U S Forest Service will hold a Forest Management for Increasing Carbon Sequestration with Biochar webinar on February 18th at 11 am EST

This webinar, presented by Carlos Rodriguez Franco of Forest Service Research & Development, will cover aspects related to forest management approaches that can help with negative emissions technologies to increase Carbon sequestration and retention in two ways:

By applying silvicultural practices that change residual tree growing space by increasing the allocation of that space, water, and nutrients for increased growth and by using the current non- value removed biomass to create biochar.

The presentation will also explain how Carbon sequestered during biochar application, in combination with sustainable biomass production, can be Carbon negative and therefore used to actively remove CO2 from the atmosphere with different applications.
