Butterfly Identification Walk

The Second Vermont Butterfly Atlas is a five-year initiative (2023-2027) aimed at updating our knowledge of butterfly species and populations in Vermont. In just the first two years, dedicated volunteers have discovered three species never before recorded in the state and contributed nearly 23,000 butterfly observations.  

Vermont Land Trust and the Vermont Center for Ecostudies will hold a Butterfly Identification Walk at Bluffside Farm in Newport, VT on July 1^st from 4 to 6:30 pm

This program will include an introduction to the Butterfly Atlas as well as a guided butterfly survey walk, and a hands-on demonstration of how to submit data. Participants are encouraged to download the eButterfly app and create an account, so they can learn how to submit observations during and after this training workshop.
