The Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation will hold 11 Chapter 132 training workshops for timber harvesters around the state between June 1st and June 14th. Each workshop will qualify for 3 Mass. Timber Harvester Licensing Credits and meet the requirement for training in Chapter 132.
A Chapter 132 Timber Harvester workshop will be held at the Old Barn at Myles Standish State Forest in South Carver on June 8th from 1 to 4 pm.
This workshop will discuss what types of harvests can or cannot be covered by a Massachusetts Forest Cutting Plan. Discussion will include non-typical -harvesting including ecological restoration, invasive species work, understory mowing, agroforestry, and solar installations.
