The Woodland Stewards Extension Program for Landowners is sponsored by Southern Regional Extension Forestry and aims to promote environmental and forest health through forestry education of landowners.

This year Woodland Stewards is holding a five part series of Forestry Tax webinars to help landowners save money on their forestry taxes on Tuesdays at 1 pm from January 18th to February 15th.

The fifth webinar in the series, Coping with Losses from Nature and Chance, will be held on February 15th from 1 to 2 pm ET.

Growing trees can be subject to forces beyond the owners’ control from weather catastrophes to timber theft and more. While forest landowners can’t plan for these unexpected events, they can learn more about the tax implications for casualty loss, non-casualty losses, timber theft, trespassing and more.

This webinar presented by Extension Tax Specialist Dr. Yanshu Li and Extension Business Specialist Dr. Tammy Cushing, will provide insights into best ways to cope with timber losses from nature and chance.
