North Carolina State University Extension will hold a one-hour Woodland Owner Lunch and Learn webinar on Creating & Maintaining Upland Habitat on June 25th at noon.

Creating and maintaining upland habitat for wildlife is important to many landowners.

Habitat loss is the greatest threat to wildlife conservation. Landowners can manage forestland to maintain and even create essential habitat for various species of wildlife. Understanding the relationship between wildlife and your woodlands is critical to learning the necessary steps to improve habitat on your property. With planning and appropriate management, you can favor the animals and plants you most desire on your property.

This presentation, by Quail Forever wildlife biologist Jake Comer, will cover the habitat requirements of many upland wildlife species and how forestry practices can be used to improve their habitat. Financial and technical resources, that are available to landowners, will also be reviewed.
