The Woodlands Partnership of Northwest Massachusetts, Mass Audubon, and the Town of Rowe will hold a Davis Mine Climate Adaption Trail Tour at Pelham Lake Park in Rowe on June 6th from 1 to 3 pm.
The tour will show how ash trees at the park are being protected from Emerald ash borers, how trees are being planted for the next forest and how Rowe has used a recent harvest to improve resilience for the woodland using slash walls to protect seedlings from deer browse.
The tour will meet at the Davis Mine Trailhead on Davis Mine Road in Rowe. Participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy footware and take precautions against ticks and insects.
In event of rain, the tour will be held on June 13th at the same time.
