Vermont Woodlands Association will hold an Exploring An Active Timber Harvest Walk on Thursday, February 27th from 1 to 3 pm on King George Farm Road in Sheffield, VT
Join VWA for a guided walk through an active timber harvest, where you’ll see forestry in action and learn how loggers and forest managers adapt to winter conditions in a changing climate.
We’ll explore hardwood thinning and group selection techniques used to improve growing space, support wildlife habitat, and promote healthy forests.
Plus, we’ll discuss road and skid trail design for water quality and efficiency—key elements of responsible forest management. And if we’re lucky, we’ll spot some wildlife signs along the way!
