With the ongoing Coronavirus threat, the Massachusetts Forest Alliance’s Annual Meeting will be held virtually again this year. The online meeting will be held Saturday, October 23 from 10 am – 12:15 pm, and will be free to attend thanks to sponsorship from our friends at Farm Credit East.

The focus of this year’s meeting will be on forest carbon and how it may benefit our climate and woodland owners.

Our keynote speaker, Eric Kingsley from Innovative Natural Resource Solutions (INRS), will provide an overview of forest carbon and carbon credit programs that could be of use to forest landowners.

Dr. Laura Marx from The Nature Conservancy will then discuss a number of climate forestry/carbon projects now taking place in Massachusetts.

Our third speaker, Kathryn Morse from NCX, will discuss NCX’s remote surveying carbon credit program that purchases credits for one year increments at no cost to landowners.

Besides the forest carbon discussions, the Annual Meeting will include presentations of MFA’s annual awards and a short business meeting.

The program has been approved for 1.5 Mass Forester continuing education credits in Category I, 2.25 Mass timber harvester continuing education credits, and 1.5 SAF Continuing forester education credits in Category I.

Hope to see you on the 23rd !
