The USDA Forest Service will hold a one-hour Forest Management and Biochar: Building Resilient Ecosystems webinar on March 18th at 11 am ET

Dr. Debbie Page, research soil scientist with the Rocky Mountain Research Station, will talk about forest management and woody biomass-derived biochar, its properties and how it can help to build resilient ecosystems.

Dr. Debbie Page – Dumroese has studied the impacts of harvest operations on soil processes and long-term soil productivity. For the past decade she has worked to reduce slash pile burning by finding uses for low value woody biomass. In particular, she has installed a dozen forest and range field studies that examine the impacts and benefits of adding biochar to the soil.
