How can working haylands and pastures better support grassland birds, pollinators, and soil and water quality?

The Champlain Valley Farmers Coalition and the Bobolink Project will hold a Hayland and Pasture Management for Conservation & Birds program on Friday, February 27th from 10 am to Noon at the Ferrisburgh Town Hall in Ferrisburgh, VT.

This program will bring together farmers and service providers to explore how working haylands and pastures can support grassland birds, pollinators, and soil and water quality.

In the program, we will explain how to assess fields for bird- and bee-friendly habitat, share practical management strategies, and highlight resources and programs. Farmer and grazer perspectives are central to this discussion. What you share will directly influence future program design, ongoing research, and the development of bird-friendly pasture management strategies. All are welcome, whether you’re new to these ideas or already doing this work.
