DCR Forest Health will hold an Identifying and Managing Forest Insects and Diseases walk at Nickerson State Park in Brewster on Friday, May 31st from 9 to 11 am.

Forest Health Program Director, Nicole Keleher will lead a tour through the paved, accessible bike trail in Nickerson State Park’s pine oak forests.

Kelleher will discuss the lasting impacts of spongy moth defoliation events, white pine needle decline, and one of our newest concerns, southern pine beetle.

This workshop is free of charge and open to all but requires registration as space is limited. To sign up, please email Tom Prior at thomas.prior@mass.gov  with your name, the date you will be attending, and if you will be applying for pesticide contact hours or professional credits
