North County Land Trust will hold an Introduction to Agroforestry webinar on May 18th from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Agroforestry is a combination of agriculture and forestry that increases biodiversity. Silvopasture is the practice of integrating trees, forage, and grazing domesticated animals.

In this webinar, participants learn about agroforestry and silvopasture as tools to manage your land.

DCR Service Forester Mike Downey will present “Introduction to Agroforestry:  The Science, Practice and Possibilities for Massachusetts

Kate MacFarland from the USDA National Agroforestry Center will present “What Is and Isn’t Silvopasture in the Northeast?”

Consulting forester Jeff Jourdain will present “Experiences Establishing Silvopasture: A Forester’s Perspective”. Jeff has worked with a number of landowners in recent years to evaluate and implement silvopasture projects in New England.
