The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service’s Science & Technology program will hold a 90 minute Inventory & Design Opportunities for Pollinator Habitat on Working Lands webinar on August 18th from 2 to 3:30 pm EDT.

The first webinar in this two-part series will discuss inventory tools and whole farm conservation planning approaches to enhance pollinator and other wildlife habitat. Presenters will give an overview of key pollinator habitat elements and tools available to help planners evaluate current conditions, and then discuss a variety of opportunities for incorporating habitat for pollinators and other agriculturally beneficial insects (natural enemies of crop pests) into a wide range of landscapes and practices.

A 2nd webinar, scheduled for October 27th, will discuss how to plan and contract pollinator habitat. Guidance will help planners improve the long-term success of habitat plantings with adequate site preparation, implementation, and periodic maintenance, as well as assemble a suite of practices to make the process easier for landowners.
