Northern Berkshire County
Are you a landowner? Do you want to learn how to better manage your land for wildlife habitat, farming, or forestry?
Berkshire Natural Resources Council will hold a Land Conservation Speed Dating Workshop on Friday, November 13th.
The workshop will be held in northern Berkshire County on Friday, November 13th, 2026, beginning at 10am and followed by lunch around noon. (Location will be provided to accepted participants.)
The purpose pf this workshop is to introduce landowners to local technical service professionals (TSPs) in the conservation and land management field, with a focus on organizations that can provide technical and financial support for climate resiliency, habitat management, and agricultural management projects. Each participant will have approximately 10 minutes with each TSP to discuss the specific opportunities and challenges of their property, in a rotating, “speed-dating” format. Large maps of each landowner’s property will be provided to complement the discussions.
Participants will leave with an informative and inspirational roadmap for expanding conservation practices on their landscapes and in their operations. They will be armed with the knowledge of who to follow up with and what incentive opportunities and grant programs are available to support them.
In order to determine landowners who are the best fit for this event, we ask that you fill out this form with information about your property and your goals for management. Space for the event is limited and not all landowners will necessarily be accepted. The ideal participant would have at least twenty acres of land in northern Berkshire County; a mixture of farmland/grassland, forest, shrub, wetland, and/or riparian habitats; and an interest in managing some of their property for wildlife. We will aim to let landowners know if they are accepted or “wait-listed” for the event as soon as possible after their form is submitted.
Interested? Participation requires a short and easy application process, due by the morning of Monday, November 9. Space is limited.
Light snacks and a complimentary lunch will be provided.
Please email Johnny Robinson, Conservation Associate with BNRC (jrobinson@bnrc.org) with any questions regarding the event or application form. Thank you.
