Emerald ash borer (EAB) continues to spread across Vermont, raising important questions for woodland owners: What should I do with my ash trees? Will ash continue to have a place in our forests?

Vermont Land Trust will hold a Maintaining Ash in Your Woods: Strategies for Responding to Emerald Ash Borer Walk on Wednesday, May 28th from 5 to 7 pm at the King Farm in Woodstock, VT

VLT forester, Pieter van Loon, will lead this woods walk at Vermont Land Trust’s King Farm in Woodstock to explore the challenges and opportunities surrounding ash management.

The walk will visit several sites where VLT is actively treating ash trees and monitoring the impact of EAB on the landscape. Along the way, we’ll discuss strategies landowners and foresters can use to help protect ash into the future — including active forest management, health monitoring, and tree treatments.

Whether you’re managing your land or simply want to better understand EAB’s impact on Vermont’s forests, this walk offers a chance to connect, learn, and plan for the future of ash in our woodlands. VT Forester CEUs available.
