Emerald ash borer (EAB) continues to spread across Vermont, raising important questions for woodland owners: What should I do with my ash trees? Will ash continue to have a place in our forests?
Vermont Land Trust will hold a Maintaining Ash in Your Woods: Strategies for Responding to Emerald Ash Borer Walk at VLT’s Jerusalem Skyline property in Starksboro, VT on Wednesday, June 4th, from 5 to 7 pm
At this walk, VLT forest Caitlin Cusack will demonstrate how VLT is using insecticide treatments to protect individual ash trees and share strategies for promoting natural regeneration.
She will also discuss ongoing monitoring and seed collection efforts aimed at preserving ash for future generations.
Whether you’re actively managing your land or simply curious about EAB’s long-term impact, this walk offers a chance to learn practical options, connect with fellow landowners, and consider the future of ash in Vermont’s forests.
