Forest management has recently gained attention in science and policy arenas as a pathway to offset Carbon emissions arising from other industries.

Michigan State University’s Forest Carbon & Climate Program will hold a Managing Forests for Carbon Offsets webinar on June 5th from 3 to 4 pm EDT

Although forest management is one of the primary types of activities issuing Carbon credits in California, forests face many risks, including natural and human-induced disturbances. In this webinar, Lilli Kaarakka from Cal Poly will explain how current, and future forest management should focus on aligning local ecosystems and communities with future climate scenarios, without sacrificing the ecological and socio-economic function of forestlands nor compromising any conservation efforts.
