Have you thought about making your own maple syrup? Do you want to know what is needed?

UNH Extension will hold a 90 minute Maple Sugaring for Beginners online program on February 22nd from 7 to 8:30 pm.

Steve Roberge, UNH Extension Forester, will explain the syrup making process from the tree to the table plus the equipment needed to get started making your own syrup. This online discussion is geared to first-timers and beginner sugarmakers. Whether you are thinking about starting for the first time this year or you have already boiled a couple times this season and have questions, this webinar is for you.

All aspects of maple sugaring will be covered, including tree identification and tapping, collecting and boiling sap, finishing, filtering and packing syrup. Equipment and supplies needed, especially sizing and operating small evaporators, homemade and commercial, will also be discussed.

This event is free but registration is required. Register at https://extension.unh.edu/event/2022/02/maple-sugaring-beginners?utm_source=AdaptiveMailer&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NHWoods%20and%20Wildlife&org=785&lvl=100&ite=18915&lea=2612542&ctr=0&par=1&trk=a0W6f00000WioCpEAJ
