The National Firewood Workshop will be held at the Arlington Ag Research Station in Arlington, Wisconsin on June 15th & 16th.

This firewood industry event combines education and networking opportunities for the entire split firewood industry. The US Forest Service is the financial sponsor for this workshop that offers discussions on business and equipment topics as well as outdoor demos sawing and splitting firewood by multiple equipment manufacturers.

Topics that will be covered include business management, marketing, splitting and processor equipment, dry kiln equipment, kiln certification, transportation issues, automation, bundle packing and other topics important to the operation of a successful firewood operation.

The workshop will be held at the Arlington Ag Research Station of Arlington, WI, on the north side of Madison. It has an amphitheater seating of 500 persons and is the perfect location with plenty of parking and room for equipment for demos.

The cost of the workshop is $50 per attendee payable online at Eventbrite.com.

The workshop is sponsored by the US Forest Service, the Wood Education and Resource Center of Princeton, WV, North Carolina State University Wood Products Extension, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protections, University of Wisconsin Madison Extension, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Firewood Scout.

The workshop will open the doors each day at 8 am for check in and coffee/donuts/fruit. At 9 am we begin our business and equipment discussions. At 11:30 we break for lunch and outdoor demos. We continue at 1 pm for additional business and equipment discussions until 3:30 when we again go outside for equipment demos.

The equipment we expect to have on hand for viewing includes wood splitters, processors, dry kiln and miscellaneous forestry equipment.
