Vermont LEAP will hold an ANR Atlas & Avenza: How to Create & Use a Georeferenced Map workshop at the UVM Extension Office in Berlin, VT on Friday, May 9th from 8 am to 4 pm
This training will cover the ANR Atlas web-based mapping tool and the Avenza mapping app for mobile phones.
Participants will use these tools to create a georeferenced map that can be used for planning your next logging job.
Participants will first learn about the Atlas, how to use it, and how to create a geo-referenced map. Then they will learn how to upload the map to your mobile phone and how to import it to Avenza Maps.
Once that is done, they will head to the field to practice using the map in Avenza and collecting AMP information for planning a logging job.
We will also cover the new FPR cost-share program for loggers known as SLoCAMP (Supporting Loggers Compliance with the AMPs).
The morning will consist of class time with the instructors followed by field time in the afternoon further examining the topics of the workshop. 8 credits LEAP; 6 credits SAF
Cost of this workshop is $60 per person including lunch.
