Portable Sawmill Workshop

Have you considered buying a portable sawmill and sawing your own wood?

The New England Small Farms Institute will hold a Portable Sawmill Workshop on June 17^th from 9 am to noon at White Oak Forest Products at 376 West Pelham Road in Shutesbury

Bob Novick of White Oak Forest Products will lead a hands-on workshop that explores all dimensions of operating a small, portable sawmill at both homestead and commercial levels. Topics include:

• sourcing and moving logs,
• safety considerations,
• sawing techniques,
• choosing what to mill,
• maintenance and operating costs,
• considerations for buying or renting a mill,
• marketing boards etc.
