DCR Service Forestry is hosting a free General Service Forestry Program Updates, Review, and Forest Carbon Dynamics workshop for Mass. licensed foresters on October 10th from 2 to 4:30 pm at the Charlton Public Library.

This workshop will review the basic requirements and processes to be followed when filing and carrying out a Forest Cutting Plan.  The successful implementation of Forest Cutting Plans and the importance of a final review will be covered as well.

Other topics to be reviewed include: BMP’s, working in and around resource areas, extreme weather events, and erosion control.

The workshop will also include a presentation from Bill VanDoren on “Forest Carbon Dynamics on Division of State Parks and Recreation Forest Lands”.

Finally, updates will be given on Forest Stewardship Plans, the MOU between DCR and DEP, and more.  There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.

This workshop has been approved for 2 CFE’s in Cat. 1.
