Due to this week’s snowstorm, the Southern Pine Beetle webinar is being postponed.  It will be on Monday, December 21st from 7 to 8 pm.

DCR’s Forest Health Program will hold a series of 6 Winter Webinars in December on current forest health threats in Massachusetts.

The final webinar will on Southern Pine Beetles in Massachusetts on Thursday, December 17th from 7 to 8 pm.

In this webinar, DCR Forest Health Director, Nicole Keleher, will discuss the building threat to our pine barrens from the southern pine beetle. Nicole will explain how to identify southern pine beetle infestations, how southern pine beetles affect pine stands, and potential management options.

There will be plenty of time for any questions about southern pine beetle or other bark beetle pests in our pine species.

Professional credits will be available for MCA and ISA CEUs, as well as, 1 contact hour credit for Massachusetts pesticide categories 35, 36, and applicator’s license.
