The MassConn Sustainable Forest Partnership will hold a Sustainable Forests Woods Walk at the Wetherhill Forest on Lebanon Hill Road in Southbridge on Sunday, November 16th from 1 to 3 pm.
This woods walk is hosted by Ted Wetherhill, a local landowner with experience in protecting and managing his own land. Ted will walk us through his 107-acre wooded property in Southbridge to discuss current management practices and the steps he took to put a Conservation Restriction on the property, including the resources provided through the NRCS’s Healthy Forest Reserve Program. Bring questions on how to conserve your own land!
This walk will last approximately 2 hours. The property is wooded with some uneven footing. Sturdy shoes are recommended. If you are interested in attending but concerned about the terrain, please email Emma at ecomeau@opacumlt.org so that we can plan ahead to accommodate your needs.
The entrance to the property is across the road from 1093 Lebanon Hill Road, Southbridge MA. Please note we are meeting at the wooded lot/entrance across the road from this address, not at the actual address. Please do not park at the yellow house. This event is free but please RSVP beforehand.
