Northern Woodlands will hold a The Past, Present, and Future of Northeastern Forests discussion at Lyme Congregational Church in Lyme, NH on May 20th from 5 to 6 pm.

The discussion with Dartmouth College Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies Shersingh Joseph Tumber-Dávila will share perspectives on New England’s woodlands, with a focus on forest disturbances.

This presentation and Q&A will address historical change drivers such as deforestation, droughts, and hurricanes, as well as more emergent risks and opportunities related to climate change, development, and carbon markets.

Tumber-Dávila will integrate details from his unique interdisciplinary research approach, which includes regional-scale experiments, syntheses, and modeling. He will also discuss the fascinating, complex subterranean realm of roots and soil.
